Governance 2026 - 2028

July 2026​ 

The HSCCA board is currently made up a nominated constituent Member (two in the case of Hampshire County Council) from each of: 

  •  Hampshire County Council (x 2 representatives), Isle of Wight Council, Portsmouth City Council, and Southampton City Council, totalling 5 
  • 2 Non-constituent member/s to be appointed by the Board at its meeting scheduled for 28 September 2026 to represent Mid and North Hampshire district and borough councils; and  
  • 1 Associate member: Chair of the Business Advisory Board – still to be appointed. 

Further non-constituent or associate members can be agreed by the Board as and when they wish to do so, up to a maximum of 5 non-constituent or associate members 

May 2027​ 

Government has announced that Local Government Reorganisation in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight is paused while a review is undertaken. Local elections will still go ahead in councils where these are due and on the existing ward boundaries

May 2028​ 

Inaugural election for a Mayor of Hampshire and the Solent Combined County Authority. The Mayor will chair the HSCCA Board.
